Six Dresses for Girls Around The World
Earlier this week three of us gathered to sew for Hope 4 Women's campaign to Dress A Girl Around The World. Their vision: Imagine a world where every little girl owned at least one dress. It was a few hours of good sewing fun, some great conversation and a few snacks too. The pattern utilizes a purchased pillow case and the sewing is very simple. One dress can easily be compleated in an hour. And although the three of us are quite proficient sewers, this is a great project for beginners.
Melissa worked on a couple beautiful burgandy and blue dresses.
I went with little-girl colors on my pillow case dresses. Pinks, blues, purples! One with ties in pink and one with blue.
We'll pack them up and send them to the collection center, right here in Arizona, then they will be hand delivered by teams traveling around the world.
We're planning to hold another dress making event this Fall. There are many ways to be involved whether or not you have sewing skills. Melissa will be traveling with Youth With A Mission and the thought of sending dresses with her on her travels is exciting. I'll keep you posted.
