Time for Dress Up

Sometimes February finds folks in the doldrums of winter.  As if sunny Arizona and 70 degree weather is not enough, we decided to have a dress-up party.  I have mentioned before how much we love dress-up, so for Uncle Ted's birthday we had another dress up party...just like last year

Just in case someone showed up without a costume I filled the coatrack by the front door with some options.

My boys used some repeat costumes from days gone by.  Calvin is in a knight's tunic.  I made it about 8 years ago for a neighbor-friend who then passed it down to us.  It's getting a little small for Calvin!  Truman is in lederhosen.  I'm prety sure they are genuine German lederhosen that are as old as my husband.  Andrew is SuperMan...and it's convienient that they are also pajamas because he would wear PJs all day, every day if I let him.

My sister's kids were a princess, a pumpkin and a football player. Costumes are worn daily at her house so her kids are professionals at dress-up.

I had a poodle skirt in my closet so I'm a 50's diner gal.  Maybe I'll have to start going by Dottie or DeeDee

My sister, a doctor.  No medical degree but she can say, "It's something going around...if it doen't get bettern in a couple weeks come back in...get plenty of rest and fluids" as well as any M.D.

My little dumpling...or whatever a sweet little German baby is called...

Grandpa, the Nebraska Fan.

Uncle Ted all decked out as a Wizard!  With glitter moons and stars and lightning on his hat and everything!

Come celebrate your birthday with us!  We would love a reason to celebrate....and dress up!

So fun! We love dressing up around here too. I always say costumes are some of the best gifts for kids. Cost per wear ends up being less one cent! ;)
