Summer Fun Recap #3

We didn't take any big vacations but we did a few fun outings locally. We're back to school this week, so I guess I need to move on from Summer Recap collages and start taking school pictures!

If You Water It...

There are times when you are preparing for something and you don't even know it.  Those are the times when you start hearing the same message repeatedly from all directions.  Bible reading, blogs, devotionals, friends in passing and the news of the day...they all seem to say the same thing. This is the message I have been hearing and reading and seeing before my eyes for several years now.  And I am convinced that there is a scriptural truth embedded in it.  If you water it, it will grow! The Destination: Roseburg, OR

Image
We spent five lovely days near Roseburg, Oregon living a bit of the farm life.   Farm dogs. Barns and corrals and blackberries. Chicken coops and a 4-bay.  Old fruit trees that grow and produce without any intervention.   Wildflowers and Queen Anne's Lace. A pond in the middle of the blackberry brambles.  A shed in need of work.  A hundred year old farm house with wood floors. A long driveway. Poison oak. A little boy looking very small in all that farm space.  A tree swing. Horses and watermelon and lots of love.  Wild turkeys. Horse back riding lessons. And a saddle in the grass. Ahhhh!  Farm life!  I love it!  Even though I know my 5-days-of-visiting version is somewhat romanticized!
